Built in 1929, the R.J. Reynolds building was the architectural inspiration for New York City’s Empire State Building. Today it remains an endearing icon in the Winston-Salem skyline, still grandly representing the timeless traditions of the South.

9:15 - 10:30 AM - Eating Problems For Breakfast: Turn Obstacles into Profits with Stephanie Betters

During this session, you will learn how to overcome challenging problems in your business and flip them into income streams. Stephanie will share how she went from being a nurse practitioner to retired at age 36 while owning 3 companies. She will teach you the 6 steps on how to tactically assess and conquer problems personally and professionally. By the end of this session you will learn how you “naturally” respond to stressors and how to course correct into more effective strategies.

10:45 am – 11:45 AM – Leadership: traps that hold you back from building a lasting relationship with Liz & Andresa

During this session, you will learn about the top 3 “Levels of Leadership” and the traps that hold you back from growing your business. You will also gain a specific tool to utilize during breakthrough conversations with your internal and external team so you can move through this process powerfully and build a long lasting relationship.

During this session, we will provide you a step by step process on how to write your own story so you can share your vision with team members, engage with other lenders and investors and take advantage of media opportunities where you will inspire others and while establishing credibility.
2:00 - 2:30 PM - Break + Snack + Networking
2:30 - 3:00 PM - Discover what a “perfect borrower” looks like through a lender's eyes with Wendy Sweet

Every lender envisions the perfect borrower and it is not only "good credit, money in the bank and experience” that will make you become your lender’s avatar. During this session you will learn what to say or not to say while building relationships with lenders.
3:00 – 4:00 PM – The Deal MakHER session: present a deal and make a lasting impression

During this powerful “Shark Tank” deal presentation, selected Strive members will present a “deal” to the entire group. Liz, Andresa and Wendy will be the sharks. This can be a “real or practice” deal you have under contract and/or interested in purchasing with the goal of raising fund from private lender. The goal here is for members to improve their deal presenting skills, receive feedback regarding areas or improvement and potentially connect active and passive investors in the room!
4:00 – 5:00 PM Self Care InvestHER Hour

During this session, we will relax, get to know one another more and enjoy some delicious drinks, snacks and an exercise to take care and relax our bodies!
5:00 – 7:00 PM – Break + refresh
7:00 PM – Formal dinner at the hotel.

Meet Our Speakers
Wendy Sweet
Wendy Sweet has been lending money to investors since 2001 as both a conventional lender and a Hard Money lender. In 2008, she completely switched over to growing Carolina Hard Money to offer funds to investors, builders, landlords, and developers who could navigate the changing world of real estate.
Carolina Capital Management offers hard money rehab loans and Ground-Up Construction Loans for investors in NC, SC, GA, VA, TN, and parts of FL. Her goal is to assist people to build their revenue and impact their lives through a proven lending model in Carolina while providing solid returns for real estate investors.
Stephanie Betters
Stephanie Betters is the co-founder of Better Path Homes, a single-family residential wholesaling and new build company in Charlotte, NC. She is also the founder of Left Main REI, a CRM for Real Estate Investors via a partnership with Salesforce.
She is a recently retired Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner. She believes that her background in Medicine has been the key to her success in the business arena. Everything boils down to taking care of people and helping to solve their problems, and this is Stephanie’s favorite thing to do.
She is a proud wife to Zachary Betters who is also a co-founder of Better Path Homes, and an even prouder mother to their three beautiful children. The Betters family enjoys being outside together, traveling, reading, running, and the company of close family & friends.
